In choosing a course or degree, it is best to consider your desire and your interest. Do not plan to get course which is not interesting on you because you will find it as waste of time. I believe that if you love what you are doing, you can do your best in any way. So if you are getting the course which interests you most, you will do your best to pursue and finish it no matter what. Today, many students are this idea to enroll at Interior design schools because designing is their fashion. It is possible for you to be a successful designer in the field of interior designing and all you need is to pursue. If you think that you love on art and designing, it is possible for you to get a career related to it. Since you have the skill, all you need is to improve it and learn things which can help you in being professional. Patience is important to be your partner in achieving a success because all things are starting at the bottom.

The International Space Station is located around 300+ kilometers above circling the earth at a very very high speed and when I saw it, it was really a perfect timing. September 19, 2010 at around 6-6.30 PM. I saw a star-like light travelling like an airplane but immediately came into my mind that it was not an airplane because of its light not blinking or twinkling. A curious mind for a while, I think of it again and it was not really an airplane and I initially suspect of something like it maybe the ISS. So I suddenly rushed to my computer and search for the real-time position of the ISS. And to my surprise, it was really the ISS I have seen a while ago. Look what I have searched.

ISS just passed above Philippines (Fig. 1) and several minutes after refreshing the browser still at heavens-above.com it passed Australia and approaching New Zealand (Fig. 2).

Fig. 2: Approaching New Zealand

More surprisingly, the ISS travels at a speed of 7k+ meters per second.

A year ago, I together with my brother observed the same and we have no idea what was that before. Now we know. And I think the ISS is likely can be spotted anywhere with the right timing and luck. Especially at dusk or at night.

Sites like heavens-above.com can give you real-time positin of the ISS as well as http://iss.astroviewer.net/.

Openness and compatibility are going to be the key forces behind Web giant Google’s first major step into the cellphone universe.

Although the much-rumored gPhone wasn’t announced, Google said today it will release a software platform dubbed “Android” that will allow anyone—from amateur hackers to mobile phone companies—to create applications for widespread use on the go. To ensure that these new applications find a home on mobile devices, Google also has formed the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 34 companies that include manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola and Samsung and service providers like T-Mobile, Qualcomm and Sprint Nextel.

“In order for there to be a gPhone, you’re going to need to have an operating system with the right capabilities, architecture and applications,” Google’s chief executive, Eric Schmidt, said in a conference call. “If there were a phone, Android would be the correct choice.”

Schmidt says Google isn’t going to eliminate any possibility of a gPhone in the near future, but for now an open platform will allow customers to have “thousands of different choices” for phones running Google’s software. Google essentially wants to be the Windows of the mobile-phone industry, and while competitors such as Microsoft, RIM, Symbian and Palm have decided to go the path of a closed, monetized software platform, Google plans to put everything out in the open in an effort to gain marketshare quickly.

Hardware and software specifications haven’t been released, but Google says the baseline device needs to have a 200mhz ARM9 processor—hardware already common in phones such as the recent line of Sony Ericssons. Google’s software, meanwhile, works on phones of all shapes and sizes, from a small-screen QWERTY smartphone to a newer touchscreen device (No word yet on whether the software will be backward-compatible with current and older phones)

In the past, cellphones generally have been closed to software developers, or at the very least, incompatible with one another. A Blackberry user, for example, can’t download software developed for the RAZR and expect to run it. And there’s no easy way for the phones to share contacts or e-mail.

But with Android, all of that should change: Google’s Linux-based software will be standardized across different handset models and manufacturers. Any developer, from a large company to an individual programmer, can download the source code and create or improve upon applications for the device. If the Internet has taught us anything, Schmidt says, it’s that businesses might be competitors, but they benefit better when they adopt a standard.

While we await a full rundown on Android features, one could speculate that the software will be capable of doing anything from making calls to locating yourself using GPS. Google plans to unveil the software development kit next week, but don’t expect Android-laden phones to roll out until the second half of next year.

Perhaps the most exciting part of Google’s new venture is the company’s hope that by creating an open and standardized set of tools, innovation will flourish and out-pace competing, closed-off products and platforms. Andy Rubin, Google’s director of mobile platforms, said he hopes Android will end up on mobile devices that haven’t even been invented yet. Source: —Wayne Ma, Popularmechanics.com
