SEO: Google on Legal Precedents
Wednesday, April 11, 2007 23:46After a long reading about SEO I got this SEO related stuff at wikipedia.org.
In 2002, SearchKing filed suit in an Oklahoma court against the search engine Google. SearchKing’s claim was that Google’s tactics to prevent spamdexing constituted an unfair business practice. This may be compared to lawsuits that email spammers have filed against spam-fighters, as in various cases against MAPS and other DNSBLs. In January of 2003, the court pronounced a summary judgment in Google’s favor.
In March 2006, KinderStart.com, LLC filed a first amendment complaint against Google and also attempted to include potential members of the class of plaintiffs in a class action.[28] The plaintiff’s web site was removed from Google’s index prior to the lawsuit and the amount of traffic to the site plummeted. On March 16, 2007 the United States District Court dismissed KinderStart’s complaint without leave to amend, and partially granted Google’s motion for Rule 11 sanctions against KinderStart’s attorney, Gregory John Yu, requiring him to pay part of Google’s legal expenses.
I tried to search the searchking on google, and it appeared no. 1 the searchking.com which I don’t know if it is the searchking mentioned above. But the kinderstart.com happened to be not crawled by Google as of this writing. The searching i made with the keyword kinderstart.com link here and see the result. Do you think the two are still in war?
The effect of the sued against Google? Or the site itself done something that violated the TOS of Google on their search engine services.
